At the beginning of this year, we delivered new web sites for the Slovakian Capital City of Bratislava and the Bratislava Transport Company. The project included not only the implementation of a new CMS solution, but also a more modern website design as well as integration with third-party systems.
“The original website of Bratislava City has already been in use for 13 years. Our residents needed a platform that would allow faster and more comfortable access to information, or the possibility to browse it on mobile devices.” Ivo Nesrovnal, Bratislava City Mayor
The project’s main aim was the delivery of new websites www.bratislava.sk and www.dpb.sk, whose previous versions have been in operation since 2005.
Newly designed websites are visually more modern, graphically unified and meet current technical standards. A simplified web structure and content layout help visitors to find useful and relevant information. Data migration to the new CMS has also helped to “clear” the already existing content, allowing visitors to find only current and relevant information.
Prior to the development of the project, we carried out traffic analyses and analyses of client paths. Based on the behavioral information, we were able to design a new, user-friendly website structure. Subsequently, a wireframe design and site structure changes were created. Once the designs have been approved by clients, data migration and modules for the proper portal functioning were implemented. As the Capital’s City Hall used third party systems to perform their work, these needed to be integrated with web portals. Integrating websites with the Active Directory and Noris system enabled their collaboration and data flow, with content being automatically generated on new web solutions.
Bratislava.sk and dpb.sk are deployed on Microsoft Azure server hosting, which uses multiple cloud services – App service, SQL databases, Blob storage and media service. The implementation and operation of client hosting is ensured for following four years.
After a few months of analyses, designs, programming, testing, migrations of the original site’s content and integration into third-party systems, we were able to launch new websites successfully. We must point out and praise the excellent cooperation with the employees of the municipality who have collaborated with us on this project’s implementation.
