This year again, Microsoft recognized the best and the most innovative projects of its partners. Within the 21st annual Microsoft Awards competition, our solution for Heineken Slovakia got among the top projects.
More than 100 unique solutions were nominated for the Microsoft Awards 2019 in eleven categories. Among the main evaluative criteria belonged project innovativeness related to digital transformation, benefits for process optimization or utilization of cloud products and services.
It´s not the first success for Heineken Slovakia in this competition. After winning Microsoft Awards 2017, when our solution took first place in the category “Retail and FMCG“ for Slovakia, another success arrived.

This time, the solution named “Heineken Slovakia continues in digital transformation by implementation of cloud solutions” got to the podium.
In Heineken Slovakia, we are constantly looking for solutions thanks to which we can provide better and better services to our customers and, at the same time, higher effectivity to our employees. We see significant added value in upgrading our information systems. We are happy that after first place two years ago, we are among the best projects of the Microsoft Awards competition again. In 2016, we implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 located in Microsoft Azure cloud to Heineken Slovakia. The CRM system was later extended by the Microsoft Power BI analytical tool designed for data analysing and creation of reports. Last year, the company gained also an internal “e-shop” as an extension to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
The aim of the project was to simplify the process of year round planning and ordering marketing products used by the sales department. “E-shop” offers many improvements. It contains an up-to-date product catalogue with the possibility to search by brands, devices, a type of material and products, what simplified ordering. Employees got an overview of current and future stock and detailed information about products in the previous order.
The internal “e-shop” in CRM is a modern tool used by the management to track budget spending. The important contribution of the solution is elimination of potential errors, which could occur during manual processing of data from the whole Slovakia. Automation of the planning process and ordering and the possibility to revise orders from the side of the POSM (Point of Sale Materials) coordinator have impact on reducing costs. The solution deployed in cloud is available non-stop also via mobile devices.
This year, Microsoft company decided to transfer the ceremony into the online environment. Since we couldn´t be present at the awarding, we touched the glasses with the Heineken Slovakia team at least virtually via Microsoft Teams.
