Real Business Examples: Turn Data Chaos into a Competitive Advantage

In a time when companies generate vast amounts of data daily from various systems, the ability to efficiently process and utilize this data becomes a competitive advantage. Automated data integration and subsequent reporting can replace lengthy manual processes, reduce error rates, and provide management with up-to-date and accurate information for decision-making. In this article, we present concrete real-world examples where modern data solutions have delivered significant time and cost savings for clients and boosted their business efficiency.

Manual data processing, dozens of Excel files, and weeks of work. This is still the daily reality for many companies across various sectors. However, there is a way out of this chaos. Data integrations and automated reports are solutions that transform data disorder into modern systems that bring substantial efficiency gains.

“Without clean and properly structured data, it’s very difficult to operate efficiently and make the right decisions. We help our clients turn data chaos into a competitive advantage by creating automated solutions that provide management with accurate and current data,” says Andrej Jenčo, Manager of the Data Intelligence Department.

Examples of Automation in Practice

Automating Sales Commissions in the Energy Sector

One of our clients in the energy sector faced the challenge of automating the calculation of sales commissions. Previously, the employee responsible for this task had to manually gather dozens of Excel files, which then took several days to clean and process into reports. Thanks to a solution based on Microsoft technologies, including our AI tool Millada, the entire process was significantly accelerated and automated. Reports are now instantly available in a BI tool. The solution also eliminates the risk of manual errors and provides management with continuous insight into team performance. Calculating Accommodation Prices for a Spa Resort

Another example is a spa operator with multiple hotels, who regularly recalculates accommodation prices based on occupancy, room type, season, or client type. Manually calculating one pricing set could take the employee several days. By automating this calculation, we reduced processing time to about 30 minutes. The system automatically evaluates room availability and dynamically assigns prices, which are then displayed in clear reports. It also allows flexible adjustments of input parameters and immediate tracking of their impact on pricing.

Insurance Policy Settlement Between Insurer and Partners

An insurance company faced the challenge of efficiently processing and settling insurance products offered through external partners, such as mobile operators. Clients could add insurance for accidental damage or other risks when purchasing mobile devices with a subscription. At the end of each month, the company had to reconcile financial relations with partners—taking into account the number of new, canceled, or active policies and settle accordingly. The solution involved deploying an automated data integration system that regularly collected data from individual vendors and processed it into reports. At month’s end, the system automatically generates clear outputs showing the exact number of processed policies, serving as the basis for financial settlement.

Data Process Automation: Different Forms, Same Benefits

While data integration and automated reporting solutions may look different in each company, their benefits are usually the same. They replace time-consuming and error-prone manual processes. They save time, relieve employees from routine tasks, and allow them to focus on more meaningful activities. They improve the quality and reliability of outputs, which is crucial for decision-making and financial reporting.

The result of these modern solutions is reporting or an application that not only provides insights but also allows active process management to address the client’s business priorities effectively.
