Christmas and the New Year are just around the corner. While waiting for Christmas, Millennium has decided to promote a good cause again. We realize that life is not all about achieving business success but also about helping those who need it the most. This year, we have given presents to children in hospitals.
During the whole year, we have been working on a lot of IT projects helping to make business processes of our customers more efficient and digitalized. The end of the year is a time for finalization of ongoing projects, evaluation and planning next year. Having in mind all the mentioned, we cannot forget to give the helping hand. We try to bring smile on children faces by giving them Christmas presents.
Volunteers from the civic association Klub detskej nádeje (eng.: Children’s Hope Club) do their best in making life of the hospitalized children more pleasant. The members of the civic association visit patients at hospital units where they play with children, talk to them and try to cheer them up. Besides, they organize camps, charity concerts or buy little presents for the children.
Shortly before Christmas, we were involved in giving presents to children from the whole Slovakia hospitalized in Children´s Faculty Hospital in Bratislava. We presented children with board games, building blocks, cuddly toys, dolls and books. Thanks to the sheltered workshop Prvosienka (eng.: Primrose), we could give the children also beautiful hand-made toys.
Endowment Fund of Paediatric Oncology “Krtek”
This year, the Czech branch Millennium Services has decided to promote Endowment Fund of Paediatric Oncology Krtek, which cooperates with the Clinic of Paediatric Oncology of University Hospital in Brno. The main priority of the Endowment Fund is to make children´s stay in hospital of better quality and more pleasant during the whole treatment and to help patients and their families during the period after the treatment has been finished.
The treatment of an oncologic patient is financially very demanding and little patients are often confined to bed. They would for sure appreciate every amusement in their situation. That´s the reason why our Czech branch decided to present oncological patients with tablets. Thanks to them, the patients can be in touch with their friends and class mates or watch fairy tales, what can positively distract them during the difficult time of the treatment. We handend gifts to Jaroslav Štěrba, head of the Clinic of Paediatric Oncology Brno.
